Kendall Ridge

Kendall Ridge Professional Review and Guide

"The Kendall Ridge tour ascends part of the southern flank of Kendall Peak. It is a short trip, ideal if you have only a morning but would like a little exercise and some fun skiing. This is a good tour for Nordic equipment.

From the Sno-Park, head northeast on the snow-covered road. Within 0.2 mile there is a fork: take the left road and follow it through switchbacks to a forested section (1.5 miles). Continue along the forested road, crossing a clear-cut beneath a minor buttress. This feature was the site of an avalanche accident in the late ’80s—the party successfully rescued itself with transceivers, shovels, and savvy. Trees provide shelter for a lunch spot. Clear-cut slopes and glades on the northeastern shoulder of Kendall Ridge offer good runs. Difficulties: Moderate avalanche potential; permit / fee area."
