Kendall Adventure Zone Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Yin and yang. Hot or cold. Heads or tails. No matter how you look at it, Kendall Peak has two distinct personalities. Its mellow south and west sides welcome backcountry skiers with easily accessible, relatively moderate ski tours with a variety of safe options in a variety of conditions. But venture to the north and east sides, and you quickly realize that it’s steeper, wilder, and a lot more committing.
A common reaction among skiers when they first see the many steep chutes and couloirs that drop into Silver Creek is to think, “I need to ski those some day.” But “some day” gets further and further away due to the temptations of easier objectives close by or bigger objectives farther away. However, if part of the appeal of ski touring for you is waiting until conditions are right for aesthetic, difficult-to-reach ski lines, then this is the place for you. This somewhat unusually detailed description is also intended to convey what could be extracted out of other zones in the book."
