Green Mountain

Green Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"Green Mountain is a hidden gem located between Mount Teneriffe and Bessemer Mountain. With wild roads that can be converted to trails and wilder open areas that can be made into trails, this is one of the greatest untapped resources in the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River valley. Access is difficult. There is very limited parking at the gate.

The actual allocated space for cars is almost a mile downvalley at the Mount Teneriffe trailhead. From that point it is still another 3.5 miles along the old CCC Road to the base of Green Mountain. The alternative is to bicycle to the base and find a place to stash the wheels before heading up."

Excellent trail for those seeking more than just a quick day trip. The first 3 miles or so are flat with minimal elevation gain, great to warm up. The trail starts to climb steeply afterwards, gaining almost 2000 ft of elevation in about 2 miles so be prepared to break some sweat. At this part the trail is rocky and can be very slippery if wet. Make sure to have proper footwear and exercise great deal of caution. You will also need to cross a stream few times which can be little tricky in spring when melting snow feeds the creek. Your efforts will be rewarded by magnificent views of surrounding mountains.
