This lollipop loop descends from the subalpine summit of Mount Spokane then climbs back up, making it an excellent conditioning hike. There is one very short section (about 100 yards long) of trail that was difficult to see on the ground when I last hiked this route. The rest of the route is on obvious trails and a roadbed.
