Great hike. Beautiful meadows and lakes. the views were amazing! We camped at Dicks Lake which was great camp site. Lots of bugs bring your deet. We fished but had no luck as we expected. Hiking in was easy I guess I didn't notice it was mostly down hill. Hiking back out was a bit difficult with a heavy backpack but worth the effort.

This is one of my favorite day hikes in Mt. Rainier National Park. It's right by Sunrise, so an easy trip from Seattle, and goes through beautiful meadows (filled with wildflowers in July) and breathtaking vistas. You can go to Upper Palisades Lake or take the optional offshoot to Hidden Lake, which is secluded and the perfect place for a picnic. The trail's never very crowded and is fairly easy, but there are sections that will be strenuous for out-of-shape hikers.
