North Fork Tieton Trail to Tieton Pass and McCall Basin

North Fork Tieton Trail to Tieton Pass & McCall Basin Professional Review and Guide

"Hike along the forested slopes of the North Fork Tieton River Canyon from the North Fork Tieton trailhead to Tieton Pass and the junction with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), on the crest of the Cascades. Watch for snowshoe rabbits (aka snowshoe hare and varying hare, Lepus americanus) around the trailhead; they are common. Please don’t let children and especially dogs chase them.

The trail crosses a wooden bridge over the bubbling waters of Scatter Creek and enters Goat Rocks Wilderness a few feet after leaving the trailhead. For the first 0.2 mile to the junction with the Old North Fork Tieton Trail (signed TIETON MEADOWS TRAIL), the route follows a long-abandoned roadbed. The Old North Fork Tieton Trail has not been maintained for many years. It is commonly known as the Old Army Trail."
