Lake Sylvia State Park

Lake Sylvia State Park Professional Review and Guide

"These two delightful short loops are in a 237-acre state park and 5000-acre city forest not far from downtown Montesano. Enjoy an easy hike through mature forest along a sliver of a lake teeming with fish and birdlife. Then amble alongside a babbling creek to appreciate engineers past (those who conducted trains) and engineers present (furry ones who build dams).

Lake Sylvia State Park packs a lot of history, natural beauty, and recreation within its tight borders. Once an old logging camp, the area was converted into a park in 1936.

The first 0.5 mile of creek loop is wheelchair-accessible."

This trail is not bad. Good trail for a beginner with some good elevation changes, nothing extreme but will give a good work out. Not a big fan of the logging that has been done. Over all a good trail. It took me and my girlfriend who is not a avid hiker and her dog about 3 hours.
