Glacier Peak Meadows

Glacier Peak Meadows Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Set up camp near the headwaters of the serenading White Chuck River, in tranquil parkland meadows in the shadow of snowy, showy 10,541-foot Glacier Peak. Reaching this idyllic setting requires an arduous journey—fi rst through deep primeval forest, then up steep slopes bursting with wildfl owers, and fi nally over a high barren pass through stark alpine tundra. But hey, getting here is half the fun!"

About 30 miles of the PCT are impacted by 10/2003 flood damage. EVERY trail bridge between Red Pass and Miners Creek was washed out. This includes major bridges over the Upper White Chuck River and the Suiattle River. These rivers are NOT fordable by hikers or stock. Great climb when the west side roads and trails are accessible. I have not climbed from the east which I believe is a much longer approach.
