Sullivan Lake Trail

Sullivan Lake Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Lakeshore Trail travels along the entire eastern shore of Sullivan Lake and along the base of hovering Hall Mountain. It connects two fine lakeside campgrounds, and a weekend car camp trip to Sullivan makes for great hiking and paddling right from camp.

The hike here is described from north to south, but it doesn’t really matter which end of the lake you begin from. You’ll be returning in the opposite direction either way. Lakeshore Trail 504 begins in forest and slowly climbs to a scenic bluff, one of several that offer sweeping views of the lake. En route to the bluff you’ll pass two short side trails. The trail to the left makes a little nature loop. The trail to the right goes directly to the East Sullivan Campground."

I'm not sure where the information that the trail is 8 miles came from. I just hiked the trail, and the signage from either end states the trail is 4.2 miles. It is an easy hike taking about 1 hour 45 minutes. There are several places where rock slides have obliterated the trail. Tennis shoes or hiking boots definately recommended rather than flip flops, etc. The scenery is beautiful, the trail easy. Very enjoyable half day hike.
