Mount Kit Carson–Day Mountain Loop

Mount Kit Carson–Day Mountain Loop Professional Review and Guide

"First climb the moderately steep Trail 110, gaining over 1,600 feet of elevation. Then follow the Mount Kit Carson Loop Road (which is closed to unauthorized motorized traffic) as it descends very gradually through the diverse mountain forest, before retracing your steps for the last 1.8 miles to the Entrance Loop Trailhead. Watch for the fairly common white-tailed deer all along this hike.

Pets must be on a leash and under physical control at all times. These trails are open to bicyclists and equestrians during the summer season. Mountain bikers are the most common users
of the Mount Kit Carson Loop Road portion of this hike. In the winter snowshoers and cross-country skiers use the route."
