Winchester Mountain and Mount Larrabee

Winchester Mountain and Mount Larrabee Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This tour is one of the northernmost ski descents in the state of Washington with the summit of Mount Larrabee being barely 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Canadian border. The roughly 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) of travel to get to the summit reinforces its very remote feeling. Thankfully though, on the summit of Winchester Mountain sits a ?re lookout.

Built in the 1930s, it served as an observation point for wild?res until the 1960s. It is now open to the public year-round and operates on a ?rst-come, ?rst-served basis. It makes for an outstanding base camp from which you can ski north to Mount Larrabee the next day."
