The Ptarmigan Traverse

The Ptarmigan Traverse Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"In 1938 a Seattle climbing club called the Ptarmigans ?rst completed the high route that would later bear their name. Their incredible tour-de-force began at Cascade Pass and headed south to Dome Peak and the Chickamin Glacier.

Along the way, they made more than a dozen ?rst ascents, sometimes several in one day. Brothers Lowell and Carl Skoog popularized the high route as a ski tour in the 1980s."
