Mad Lake

Mad Lake Professional Review and Guide

"A crystal-clear emerald lake, panoramic views of the Entiat Mountains, massive rock gardens, a mountain meadow filled with wildflowers, and Velodrome-smooth singletrack make the Mad Lake Trail an off-road cyclist’s dream.

This route is not for average mountain bikers, however, due to its large amount of climbing and the toll it exacts on a rider’s mind. The route climbs and then descends... then climbs and descends... then climbs and descends three more times for a total of roughly 3,500 feet. Even worse, the climbs include steep, sharp switchbacks and desert-dry, dusty, deep silt. Trail surface: Singletrack."
