Entiat Mountains Professional Review and Guide

"The Entiat Mountains’ high ridgeline roads provide fabulous views of the Cascade Range, particularly from the lookout on 5,814-foot Sugarloaf Peak. Easy, though rocky in places, on native-surface roads with blind curves and narrow segments."

The Nacum-Canyon Road side, after 7 miles, the road is not great. there are big potholes in the middle of the road. It is little scary if the tires get into it. But if you are careful, you can make all the way to the sugarloaf peak. The other side entrance through eagle creek rd, is awesome, easily 2 wheel drive can do it. It is one of the spectacular drives. I loved it. Recommend it. Not great view, just narrow roads. Enjoy!
What a great drive! I have a Mercury Mariner, and it had NO problems at all making the trip. The roads were in very good shape. There were hunters out and about, but they were as careful as I was, so there were no close calls or mishaps at all, although passing by oncoming 'traffic' was a bit difficult at times, depending on when the two would meet up. The views are spectacular! I recommend the side jaunt up to the lookout tower - its worth it! The roadway is closed about 1/2 mile short of the tower, but the walk isn't bad at all, and the view into Eastern Washington is more than worth the steps it takes to get up to it. Its closed because a few trees have fallen over the roadway, but its fairly easy to go around them, so they weren't really a problem, either. A great drive!
