Chikamin Creek Loop

Chikamin Creek Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Chikamin Creek is one of the few rides in Washington with as many or more miles to the downhill as there are to the climb. In fact, Chikamin’s steep descent is nearly a mile longer than the climb up the forest service road.

Mountain bikers won’t find spectacular views in the area, as the trail descends through the basin/gully of the creek. All the better, because cyclists will be able to stay focused on navigating the gnarly downhill over hundreds of yards of ticktacktoe cinder blocks, sharp-angle switchbacks, and narrow trails cut into the fall line of the surrounding terrain. Add in ultrafine dust that hangs in the air longer than a young Michael Jordan after a rider passes through, decreasing visibility, and Chikamin Creek is one of the tougher rides listed in this guide. Trail surface: Singletrack and gravel access road."
