Boundary Butte

Boundary Butte Professional Review and Guide

"This 13-mile ride is a loop combined with two out-and-back legs. The first part of the trip is a climb to Boundary Butte. The grade of the climb changes form moment to moment- it is mostly easy and moderately difficult pedaling. There are about a dozen short, steep pitches.

Doubletrack Canyon Crest Trail makes up 2.4 miles of the route. the trail is eroded in places and quite challenging. Mounds of earth have been built across the road in an effort to divert runoff. the rest of the excursion is on dirt and gravel roads in good condition. One exception is the final 0.3 mile below the summit. This stretch is rough and extremely steep. Views of Leavenworth, the Stuart Range, Icicle Ridge, and Icicle Valley are this ride's main attraction. Great wildflowers in the springtime."
