A national Watchable Wildlife site, La Center Bottoms is the crown jewel of the 1000-plus-acre, 10-mile-long East Fork Lewis River greenway. Here, hikers of all ages and abilities (much of the site is wheelchair accessible) can explore a sprawling wetland saturated with wildlife— especially birds. And if the myriad species of resident and migratory waterfowl don’t entrance you, the adjacent river and Mount Hood in the background most certainly will.
