Salmon Creek Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Sauvie Island is one of the most popular paddling locations in Oregon, but just across the Columbia from Sauvie Island, southwestern Washington offers dozens of paddling areas that Oregon paddlers rarely visit. Salmon Creek is an excellent example.
It offers secluded paddling, good scenery, and abundant wildlife, all within a few minutes drive north of Portland, yet few paddlers know of its existence. Salmon Creek is at its best for paddling in late fall, winter, or spring, when the water level is highest. Winter is also a good time to watch wildlife, especially birds, along Salmon Creek. Great blue heron are evident, along with Canada geese and tundra swans."
