Loowit Falls

Loowit Falls Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Mt. St. Helens’ Crater Glacier is both the youngest and fastest growing glacier in the United States. It is also responsible for the 186-foot Loowit Falls that tumbles into Loowit Canyon less than a mile from the toe of the glacier.

The hike to Loowit Falls is remarkable for several reasons, not the least of which being the opportunity to observe and experience firsthand the rapid recovery of flora and fauna in the blast zone nearly 35 years after the eruption."
