Road 6321-010 Iron Mountain

Road 6321-010: Iron Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"Although it’s a steady climb, this rocky forest road leads to great vistas of mountains rarely seen from this angle. There are no other trails in this area, so this vista is little known.

The Iron Mountain road is a hard climb, and the road feels like the bottom of a riverbed. I can’t believe vehicles can drive up this road, but tread marks show they have. I have to watch where I’m walking, as there are rocks, ruts, and gullies. I look into the forest and think I see the darkroof of a cabin, but it’s only a fallen log. Older alders are along the road for most of the way, bending over to form gentle arches; they look as if they have woody eyes staring at me."
