Lake Dorothy Trail

Lake Dorothy Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The short, very popular, and much-used trail along the rushing Miller River leads quite quickly to one of the largest forest lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

Opportunities for water activities are abundant. The track is so eroded that exposed roots and rocks make travel difficult for short legs. However, only the last half-mile is steep, climbing to the source of the Miller, lovely Lake Dorothy."

This trail was well maintained and beautiful. It was a bit of a climb toward the end, especially for those of us that need to do a lot more hiking. The lake is beautiful, we went for a quick swim. My wife and I turned around here and went back down, but our friends continued on and backpacked in the area. Parking was easy, directions were good, all-in-all a great day.
