Little Hoquiam River

Little Hoquiam River Professional Review and Guide

"This small river may be badly clear-cut, but its atmosphere suggests “wild” and its waters are full of life. Its access is from an isolated little park, and its upstream reach offers one of the most peaceful experiences paddlers could seek.

Even though a new road and bridge have been built over its first fork, many nearby sounds are blocked off by the ridge to the south. Even at tidal flux, it is so still and quiet that you can see insects alight on its surface and watch fish take them. Birds in flight can even be identified by their reflection on the river’s surface."
