Naches Peak Trail Professional Review and Guide
"A popular loop in summer, Naches Peak Trail offers small mountain lakes, subalpine forest, good views of Mount Rainier, and a worthwhile side trip to Dewey Lake. For good reason, the loop around Naches Peak is a very popular hike.
The first 2. 0 miles of trail are outside the park and along the Pacific Crest Trail. Because this part of the Naches Peak loop is pet-friendly, you may see many hikers with leashed dogs and the occasional horseback rider. If you have a pet you would like to walk, however, you cannot complete the loop. Because pets are not allowed on the section of trail inside park boundaries, you must turn around at the park entrance signs where the Naches Peak Trail intersects the Pacific Crest Trail."
