Crystal Lakes Trail

Crystal Lakes Trail Professional Review and Guide

"A steep climb to two beautiful mountain lakes tucked away in meadows abounding with glacier lilies beneath an impressive ridge. This steep hike climbs through serene forest into flower-filled meadows, ending at two lovely mountain lakes.

Elk are often seen grazing around the lakes, and mountain goats gambol along the ridges lining Upper Crystal Lake. This is a very popular hike, so plan on seeing a lot of fellow hikers."

Let's just say that when you arrive at Upper Crystal Lake the 3 miles straight up hill and the stinging thighs are worth it.

Beautiful clear lake near the treeline, open and sunny, you can easily walk all around the lake. The edges were a bit marshy in places but there were also some boulders to sit on and eat lunch. Lots of mosquitoes, close to the water, so we used our bug spray.
