Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Verlot Public Service Center, 11 miles east of Granite Falls, is a good place to get local maps and check road conditions and campsite availability. You can also learn about nearby remnants of the gold and silver mining that took place in this area at the turn of the twentieth century: ghost towns, old mine tunnels, and overgrown railroad grades.

The 6-acre campground is very popular, with its sunny patches between the trees. It offers access to the South Fork Stillaguamish River from both sides of its namesake bridge. A lot of people taking the scenic Mountain Loop Highway stop here to enjoy the river."
