Richmond Lake via Richmond Mine Trail 973

Richmond Lake via Richmond Mine Trail 973 Professional Review and Guide

"Climb into the subalpine terrain high above the Bumping River Canyon, then descend a short distance to the shore of Richmond Lake. The wide, gentle trail leaves the trailhead through a forest of mostly lodgepole pine and Douglas fir with a scattering of tamarack and western white pine mixed in.

Lodgepole pine and western white pine can easily be told apart by looking at their needles. The needles on a lodgepole pine are in bundles of two, and on the western white pine the bundles contain five needles."
