Wallace Falls Loop

Wallace Falls Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Wallace Falls can accommodate beginner, intermediate, and advanced mountain bikers. The climb to Wallace Lake advances gradually on trail and logging roads. Beginners will find a challenge in the climb, but they will enjoy returning the same way once they reach Wallace Lake.

For further adventuring, more advanced riders may continue across Wallace River —crossing it is cold and difficult. The trails beyond are more technical but travel mostly downhill. The descent is sweet and ends up on a paved road, creating a loop that heads back to the state park trailhead."

These trails are well maintained and challenging. There's still about 6' of snow above 800ft. The Railroad grade portion of the loop is not well traveled at this point, so snowshoes would be useful. The maps on trails.com are incomplete. Your best bet is to study the maps at each trailhead. Trail Greg Ball saved us about 3 miles of additional hiking appearing in the northwest side of the loop.
