Wallace Lake

Wallace Lake Professional Review and Guide

"This wide trail is good for beginners. There are few obstacles and it is entirely runnable. The route starts on trail but goes several miles on road. Since it is a long hill up to the lake, it’s also good training for the intermediate and advanced trail runners.

It is 12.2 miles round trip from the parking lot to the lake outlet and another 0.5 mile to the end of the lake. The lake (elevation 1844 feet) is quite lovely and peaceful, reflecting Stickney Ridge against the sky. The trail and road up to Wallace Lake go in and out of state park property. Out of the park there is evidence of logging, but it does clear the way for some beautiful vistas."

Easy trail for novice like my self. Not terribly overcrowd during fall season. I've gone back in the spring time and seen the parking lots spill over with visitors as the falls are full with snow melt. The wallace lake trail is good for dogs. I believe the parking lot requires a northwest parking pass.
