Although it was last year, this hike was so damn cool! We started in through a "short-cut" hike, off of Mt. Baker Hwy, and it killed us. And it was worth it! Not sure the exact elevation gain for short-cut, about 3500 ft in 2 1/2 miles, so very difficult, but so rewarding. Stop by Mt. Baker Ranger (Forest Service) Station to get more details. Once you get up to High Divide ridgeline, views along are unbelievable and the trail seemed to continue forever. Great two-three day backpack, can be extended or cut to a day-hike (for extreme hikers :) Try to do it late summer, due to TONS OF SNOW early June (basically it's too cold to overnight if you're not technical). Enjoy!
