Ruby Beach Professional Review and Guide
"Ruby Beach is a well-known location often depicted on postcards, calendars, and posters. One reason for this fame is that the beach is exceptionally photogenic, with dramatic rock pinnacles and islands. The beach is also extremely easy to reach, with a simple, downhill, 0.2-mile path to the shore. Both of these attributes make it a great destination for hikers as well as photographers.
Not surprisingly, easy access and remarkable scenery ensure that the first part of the trip is far from a wilderness experience. On a typical summer day, hundreds of people come to visit this lovely spot. If you want to avoid the crowds, come on a weekday in the off-season, or simply leave the tourists behind by wading across Cedar Creek and walking the long and usually lonely beach north to Hoh River."
