North Snider–Jackson Trail

North Snider–Jackson Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Follow a portion of the historical Snider–Jackson Trail that once ran along the Olympic National Forest boundary from Jackson Guard Station (Hoh River) to Snider Guard Station (Sol Duc River). As you hike along appropriately named Rugged Ridge, marvel at old-growth giants. Then drop deep into a remote valley that embraces the South Fork Calawah River.

From the indiscreet trailhead, gently climb through primeval forest and at 0.4 mile enter Olympic National Park. Shortly afterward begin a 100-foot descent into a small ravine, passing some of the biggest and oldest cedars and Douglas-firs anywhere in the park.

Dogs prohibited."
