Snoqualmie Valley Trail and Snoqualmie Valley Trail Extension

Snoqualmie Valley Trail and Snoqualmie Valley Trail Extension Professional Review and Guide

"Wander the foothills of rural Snoqualmie Valley from Duvall through Carnation, to Snoqualmie Falls near Snoqualmie, on to North Bend, and finally to the John Wayne Pioneer Trail. You’ll travel near the highway, through wetlands, along ridges, above the valley, through a golf course, minutes from Snoqualmie Falls, and into charming and historic downtown areas.

Enjoy a teahouse, an elegant lodge, a 268-foot waterfall, bakeries, bridges, rivers, lakes, and one of the largest logging operations in the Northwest. Surface: Crushed rock and original ballast. Look out for large, deep gravel on the decked trestles. Location: Duvall to North Bend, King County."

I have biked this trail 5 times in the month of May. I start at the Park and Ride in Duvall and end in Carnation. Each morning I have sighted a coyote. I have also spotted what may have been either a beaver or a nutria. I have seen an assortment of birds including rufus sided tohees, herons, and a few types of ducks. The trail is flat and easy to bike on although crossing the round-a-bout in Duvall is a little unnerving. Overall, the section of trail I have biked is wonderful.

It was a pretty trail, but quite flat. It came out behind the falls and that was great. The huge downside to the trail is that is lies next to a gun club shooting range. So while on the trail we heard lots of very frightening gun shots. If you have no problem with gun fire during your hikes then you will enjoy it.
