I made the trip out to Blue Lake with just my 11 month son first, I loved it so much I took my wife and 14 year old daughter three days later. The lake is a very easy hike and we will return with the whole family next year for some overnight stays. there are some excellent campsites that beg to be stayed at. after an hour or two of relaxing and blueberry gorging, we attempted the Dock Butte Trail, but it is much more difficult. We only made it about 3/4 the way, to the base of the final climb. But it was worth the trip. We saw Bear scat and some clear paw prints in the middle of the trail, but missed the bear himself somehow.
