Thunder Creek Trail

Thunder Creek Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Hike one of the deepest, wildest, and most accessible wilderness valleys in the North Cascades National Park Complex. Let Thunder Creek’s incessant bellowing woo you into this primeval pocket. Enjoy scenic creekside resting posts perfect for whiling away the afternoon.

Admire ancient cedars and towering firs and, from holes in the thick forest canopy, gaze out to jagged peaks cloaked in glacial ice. And while the surrounding high country is blanketed in white, enjoy this hike early or late in the season thanks to its low elevation."

Great trail for beginners and intermediate. This trail leades off into some bigger ones. you are not limited in distance with the right equipment. i'm going up there this weekend (august 25th) to enjoy the summer view fo the trees and the river.

Thunder Creek is a good hike, especially for beginners looking to increase their strength for future, more strenous hikes. I have done this hike many times and always find it enjoyable and the tast of the purified water is most excellent!
