Pear Lake

Pear Lake Professional Review and Guide

"This route abounds with delightful treats for you and your hound. While Fido splashes through the waters of the resident lakes and ponds, you can soak in the sun-brightened views of the local peaks and meadows.

The trail to Pear Lake (and its neighboring tarns) may be done as a day hike (the route is relatively gentle and gradually graded), but it makes a great backpacking destination with plenty of options for out-of-camp explorations."

This one's long and hard but the solitude is worth the work. Make sure you've got a day just to explore the lakes once you arrive. Beware of the waist high berry bushes on the icicle creek trail between lake josephine and the chain lakes trail head. Even very light rain will render your shorts, boots, and socks completely drenched. rain pants and gaiters are a must if the bushes are wet.
