Fort Spokane Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This modern, 22-acre campground sits at the confluence of the Spokane River and Columbia River, along a segment of the Columbia that has been dammed to create Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake. The camp offers ranger-guided daytime activities and evening campfire programs.

Fort Spokane was completed in 1894; the post comprised 45 buildings. At the height of army occupation, more than 300 soldiers lived there, but it was emptied at the outbreak of the Spanish–American War in 1898."
