Whitehorse Mountain

Whitehorse Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"Whitehorse Mountain is one of the most spectacular outposts of the Cascade Range. This tour is unique because a good portion of it, the climb to and descent from High Pass, is visible from Interstate 5 near Lynnwood.

The summit portion is, of course, visible from the Darrington Highway. For this tour, a reasonable snowpack down to 3,000 feet is necessary. You will need ice axes, crampons, and a rope. Difficulties: Glacier travel; routefinding required; high avalanche potential; permit/fee area."
