Sulphur Warm Springs

Sulphur Warm Springs Professional Review and Guide

"A daunting hunt for seeps hiding in a primeval forest in the Glacier Peak Wilderness. Swimwear superfluous. In this neck of the woods, Sulphur Warm Springs ranks second only to Gamma for sheer elusiveness. It’s pinpointed on the maps on the edge of Sulphur Creek at the 1,920-foot contour line and listed by the Forest Service as located across the creek from a point precisely 1.8 miles up, but stumbling across it on the ground is another matter.

The trick is to gauge the 1.8-mile point, beyond which the trail fades into a fishermen’s route, and then watch for a faint track angling downhill to a haphazard line of footlogs crossing the torrent. If you’ve picked the right track and managed to balance your way over the right logs, the springs should be lurking close by."
