Mountain Loop Highway

Mountain Loop Highway Professional Review and Guide

"A 50-mile drive through a lush forest, along rivers and over a low mountain pass. Mountain Loop Highway follows a horseshoe-shaped loop along several rivers and over a mountain pass. The route is a paved two-lane highway between Granite Falls and Barlow Pass. It becomes a one-lane gravel road between Barlow Pass and the confluence of the Sauk and White Chuck Rivers and is again a two-lane paved surface from the confluence to Darrington.

Special attractions: Glacier Peak, Henry M. Jackson, and Boulder River Wilderness Areas; historic mining districts; fishing; hiking; extensive views; lush vegetation; camping. This eTrail is a complete description of a scenic drive with a route map and information on the best travel seasons, interesting sites, recreation opportunities, camping locations, and much more."
