Beautiful trail that follows the river fairly closely and passes near several waterfalls. Consider following smaller creeks upstream for views of more spectacular waterfalls. If you are willing to ford the river or cross via a (large) fallen tree, a connecting trail leads steeply uphill for several miles for long-distance views of surrealistic waterfalls, rare in the pacific northwest. Consider this as a day hike with base camp set up on the main trail. Keep a careful eye out for bees/nests during season, as my party and I were stung several times. Overall a great trail for a one- or two-nighter, for beginners through advanced. Bring a swimsuit if it's hot, as there are several great swimming holes in the main creek.
