Goat Marsh

Goat Marsh Professional Review and Guide

"Much of Goat Marsh Trail is really an abandoned roadbed that is nicely reverting to a trail. The route climbs very gently at first, then levels out. The roadbed soon ends and the poorly marked trail traverses around the south side of the lake.

As the trail leaves the first lake it passes a beaver dam. The path soon reaches the south side of another shallow lake. It works its way around to the southeast corner of this second lake and ends in the forest near the shore. Many elk inhabit Goat Marsh. Hike this trail early in the morning and watch for them in the open areas north of the lakes."
