Baker River Trail

Baker River Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Get set for stately, moss-hung old-growth forest (including cedars that somehow seem to grow right out of boulders), ponds built by industrious beavers who forever seem to be changing the course of the river, and a number of rushing, glacier-fed creeks. And luckily, because this trail is at a relatively low elevation, it’s hikable almost year-round.

The trail parallels the river and for the first half mile or so is barrier-free, allowing small children or those with disabilities the opportunity to experience the river environment."

This trail is just good old fun when trying to find something to do on a weekend. Went mid-May 2008 and ,luckily, the weather couldn't have been any better. The trail was in great condition and accessable in all areas. Campsites at the beginning of the trailhead offer a fun atmosphere, but not reccommended for those seeking solitude. Great little day/nature hike for hikers of all ages and ability.
