Abercrombie Mountain

Abercrombie Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"Climb 3.5 miles to one of Washington’s most remote peaks with lofty views from a rocky, exposed ridge, the former site of a fire lookout.

This windswept vantage point near the Canadian border doesn’t see too many visitors, so you’re likely to find lonely trail here and enjoy one of the highest summits east of the Cascades by yourself."

Indeed this was a lonely trail. My partner and I were the only ones who were on the trail and another couple followed us at the Summit. It felt great to have conquered the Summit and having it all to just four of us. We had the perfect weather and the trail was easy except that it started to become steeper in the last 500 feet to the Summit. The views of the rolling alpines, the views, the meadows were so breathtaking. We stayed for half hour at the Summit while enjoying the scenery, experiencing the misty breeze and the relief that hot rocks gave me.
