Nason Ridge

Nason Ridge Professional Review and Guide

"A high traverse along the crest of Nason Ridge. Nason Ridge Trail is one of the best high ridge hikes of the eastern Cascades. The hike described is the popular way, approaching via a quiet, uncrowded meadow trail that climbs abruptly to the ridge crest, getting the elevation gain over with right away, then savoring the long, high traverse before descending gradually the last few miles out.

Of course, the hike can be done in the opposite direction just as well, or in an abbreviated fashion by approaching from one of two more direct trails. However it is done, it is a memorable high traverse with great views, memorable wildflower displays, and solitude in places. Nason Ridge is not within the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, but it is as impressive and worthwhile as any hike across the way."
