Lower Chiwawa Trail

Lower Chiwawa Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Lower Chiwawa Trail #1548 is a sometimes steep, sometimes dusty, always fun 8.1-mile (each way) roller-coaster singletrack. The off-road vehicle trail will challenge the intermediate rider and provide an adventure. The trail parallels paved Forest service Road 62, and then gravel FS 6210, and contains numerous bail-out points along the way if the trail provides too much of the challenge. (The same quality would make this a superb night ride.)

If this is the case, merely hop onto the road and ride back. The trip is routed as a trail/road loop, but you can ride it as all trail, or do any number of combinations of out-and-back and road return utilizing FS 62. Scenery: Second-growth woods with some old-growth pine; lush creekside sections."
