Hyas Lakes Trail

Hyas Lakes Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Two large forested lakes—very popular and with campsites almost beyond counting—wait at the end of a gradual trail through fine old timber.

From camps near the shores of either Hyas or Little Hyas lakes or from the swampy reed-filled area between the two, searches can be made for frogs, newts, and salamanders. As the numbers of these creatures are dwindling at alarming rates, discourage children from catching and injuring them or disturbing their eggs. Cathedral Rock rises a striking 6,000 feet above the west shores."
