De Roux Creek–Gallagher Head Lake

De Roux Creek–Gallagher Head Lake Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The shores of Gallagher Head Lake offer a panoramic background dominated by Hawkins Mountain and the Esmeralda Peaks. The vast meadows around the lake are awash in color much of the summer as scores of wildflower species push up into bloom at various times and seasons.

For the first 1.6 miles the trail climbs upward somewhat as it meanders through open forest generously sprinkled with broad clearings and wildflower meadows. The trails stays near De Roux Creek along this stretch, crossing the shallow waters just past that first trail junction (about 1.1 miles)."
