Grandview Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"On the site of an abandoned gravel pit with one of the most stunning vistas of Puget Sound to be found, Chambers Bay Golf Course and surrounding park lands sprang up. What would such a property be without taking advantage of the hilly terrain and panoramic views for a multiuse public trail? These two trails, which together form a loop, are heavily used for many reasons. The Chambers Bay property that the Grandview and Soundview Trails traverse has a long history. Situated just up the beach from Steilacoom, Washington’s first incorporated town, the land at Chambers Bay has been heavily exploited as a gravel pit that has produced some of the finest grade gravel in the world. Today, the property remains dotted with a few industrial ruins of the old gravel pit operation juxtaposed against a new, world-class golf course. The two paved trails, joined together, circle it all."
