Three Corner Rock Trail

Three Corner Rock Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Hike from the dense lowland forests along the Washougal River to the open ridgetop meadows near the summit of Three Corner Rock and then scramble the last few feet to the top for a breathtaking view of the southern Washington and northern Oregon Cascade Mountains and the Columbia River Gorge.

Three Corner Rock Trail begins as an abandoned roadbed climbing to the north. After about 100 yards the route turns to the right off the roadbed. There is a sign at the point where the trail leaves the roadbed. After leaving the road the tread climbs through second-growth timber, making six switchbacks in 0.6 mile, to reach a ridgeline. Sword ferns cover much of the ground on this slope, and vine maple forms an understory beneath the tall conifers. On the ridge, at 1,280 feet elevation, the track makes a hard left turn to head northeast along the north slope of Stebbins Creek Canyon."
