Siouxon Creek Trail

Siouxon Creek Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Hike through a lush lowland valley, passing some of the best waterfalls to be found. Then climb to the upper trailhead on Forest Road 58 near the western boundary of Trapper Creek Wilderness.

This trail is open to hikers, mountain bikers, and stock but closed to motor vehicles. Siouxon Creek Trail is popular with mountain bikers, so hikers should expect to meet many of them, especially on summer weekends."

This is a wonderful trail that follows along Siouxon Creek. The water is clear and the views excellent. The trail was a bit longer than expected at 9.2miles, but well worth it. The trailhead was packed with cars but the people were friendly and tended to be in only a few groups, that were spaced far apart during the hike. The falls at the end of the trail was excellent, and we were the only hikers there for the 20 minutes we rested. Also, the fall at the end was cool and refreshing for this very hot summer day. The trail was fairly easy and clear. I will say that there were few mountain bikers and they were very nice. Enjoy this great hike!

This is a little gem of a trail hidden deep back in the wilderness. I was pleasently surprised, its an excellent trail. Well maintained, wide, bridges over the major river crossings. Absoloutely gorgeous waterfalls, including a very large falls near the campsite at the 4.1 mile point. I just wen't in for a out and back and camped at the 4.1 mile point. Trail is flat and easy except for the very start as you descend into the canyon. Lots of small creaks cross the trail and provided a lot of places for my dog to get some water. There are a few trail junctions early on that can send you in the wrong direction if you don't follow the guide, especially on the way back near the trail head. Campsites are large with man-made fire pits, there was little trail traffic but the trip was on a Monday/Tuesday. The road going into the area is fine up until you get close to the trail head, keep your speed low in places because the paved road is falling apart making natural "speed bumps." I would definetely recommend this trail, the trees keep you in the shade and there were very few bugs. Didn't see much wildlife.
